Partitive Articles

Use the Partitive Article, which expresses that you want part of a whole (some or any) , to ask for an indefinite quantity (something that is not being counted). Before a noun, the partitive is generally expressed by de+les contract to become du and de+les contract to become des.

In linguistic, the partitive is a word, phrase, or case that indicates partialness. Nominal partitives are syntactic constructions, such as "some of the children", and may be classified semantically as either set partitives or entity partitives based on the quantifiet and the type of embedded noun used.
